Oil Impact

We've received many inquiries from out-of-state property owners about the impact of the oil spill in Walton County. We currently have seen minimal impact on our beaches and beach clean up crews are very prompt with clean up. All beaches are open along our 26 miles of coastline. Our County Emergency Operations Center continues to monitor the beaches. Additionally, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection is monitoring water quality all along the Panhandle and the Environmental Protection Agency is monitoring air quality. Our county has taken proactive measures to protect the Beaches of South Walton against this potential threat.
